Shut Up and Sing
comedy
Running Time: 95
SHUT UP & SING is an ensemble comedy/drama about a group of guys who sang a cappella together in college and are now reuniting fifteen years later to sing at a friends wedding. A weekend rehearsing together provides them a chance to reassess how their lives have progressed -- and in some cases, regressed -- since their college heyday. The film opens in flashback at the groups senior concert, where they are treated like local rock stars. With their ivory tower naivet, the world seems spread out before them like an all-you-can-eat buffet. But in present day New York, life has not gone entirely as planned. David fields tech support calls, Richard faces a messy divorce, Ted struggles to keep his recent firing a secret, and the closest Will can come to using his talent is working as a gopher in a recording studio. Only the Zen-like Spooner and LA-based TV producer Steven seem satisfied with their lot in life. When fellow singer Greg announces hes getting married and wants the group to sing at his wedding, a plan is set in motion to rehearse at Spooners rambling family beach house, with their spouses and significant others in tow. Over the course of a long weekend, old feuds erupt, secrets are revealed, and relationships are tested. In the end, these lifelong friends have readjusted their perspectives and raise their voices in song to whats good and true in their lives.
